BTS’ Jin’s Reported .6M Property Win Has Everyone Talking About His Business Skills, Here’s Why

BTS member Jin has reportedly made a significant profit from the sale of one of his luxury apartments in Seoul, with reports estimating that the transaction generated more than 8 billion KRW (approximately USD 5.69 million) in capital gains.

According to a report published by Herald Economy on July 31, the singer sold a luxury residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for 12.7 billion KRW (around USD 8.80 million) in April this year. The apartment had originally been purchased in 2019 for 4.49 billion KRW (approximately USD 3.11 million).

Based on the reported purchase and sale prices, Jin is estimated to have earned approximately 8.21 billion KRW (roughly USD 5.69 million) after holding the property for several years.

No Reported Mortgage Registered on the Property

The report further stated that no mortgage had been registered against the apartment at the time of the sale. This has prompted speculation that the property may have been purchased without a secured loan. However, neither Jin nor his agency has publicly commented on how the residence was financed.

While the financial details have attracted attention, there has been no official statement from the BTS star regarding the transaction.

Sale Timing Draws Attention

Beyond the impressive profit, the timing of the sale has also become a topic of discussion.

Reports indicate that the transaction was completed in early April, roughly a month before South Korea was expected to reintroduce stricter capital gains tax rules for owners of multiple properties in designated regulated districts. Although there is no evidence linking Jin’s decision to the anticipated policy changes, the timing has nevertheless sparked interest among observers.

Before the sale, Jin reportedly owned three residences within the same luxury apartment complex. Following the transaction, he is said to retain ownership of two units in the development.

One of Seoul’s Most Prestigious Residential Addresses

The apartment is located in Hannam-dong, one of Seoul’s most exclusive neighborhoods and a preferred address for celebrities, business leaders, and other high-profile figures.

Built on the former site of Dankook University, the luxury residential complex features around 600 spacious, low-rise homes and is widely regarded as one of South Korea’s most desirable places to live. Its combination of privacy, premium amenities, and prime location has made it a favored choice among the country’s wealthy residents.

Although the reported sale has fueled discussion about Jin’s real estate investments, neither the artist nor his agency has commented publicly on the transaction or the speculation surrounding it. For now, the reported deal stands out as one of the most notable celebrity property sales of the year, highlighting the continued value of luxury real estate in Seoul’s high-end housing market.
