WNBA All-Star Gabby Williams Is Anti-Athleisure, Pro ‘Bougie’ Makeup Splurges

Gabby Williams arrived at the 2026 WNBA All-Star Weekend with a very special plus-one: pro hockey player Mariah Keopple of the PWHL’s Seattle Torrent.

Before signing on to play with the Golden State Valkyries during the off-season, the French-American basketball vet was still rehabbing her knee in Seattle when she learned Keopple moonlights as a fashion designer. Williams, who enjoys watching Schiaparelli and Dior runway shows in her spare time, invited herself to one of the athlete’s presentations and instantly knew she wanted to enlist “Riah” to upgrade her tunnel ‘fits.

“I’m the first person she’s ever styled,” Williams tells Glamour after All-Star Weekend in late July. “I was like, ‘Do you mind doing some stuff for me for the season?’ And she was like, ‘I’m not a stylist.’ And then she put together a whole lookbook for me and I was obsessed.”

Their partnership came to a head in Chicago, where Williams made history as the Valkyries’ first-ever All-Star representative (the team joined the league in 2025 and is just in its second season). Williams did her own makeup for her media appearances while Keopple sent her muse down the orange carpets in two distinct looks featuring her own custom designs and luxury pieces.

Of course, the Valkyries couldn’t have asked for a better face for their team than Gabby Williams: At just 29 years old, Williams entered her eighth WNBA season as an All-Star with two Olympics under her belt representing Team France. She’s continued to flourish since joining the young team, hitting career-best stats and leading the Valkyries in scoring. On August 4, she reached 2,000 career points and counting.

Despite these accomplishments, Williams is far more comfortable lifting up her teammates, Keopple, and longtime partner Marine Johannes of the New York Liberty—whom she described as an “All-Star” in her life during a recent press conference—than discussing herself.

“I wouldn’t be an All-Star starter if I wasn’t on this team, if I didn’t have them as teammates and we weren’t winning and playing the way we were,” Williams says. “I was really bashful when I got [the call] because this should be shared with everybody.”

So when given the rare opportunity to discuss nothing but Gabby Williams after All-Star Weekend (where she scored 18 points and hit four three-pointers), we took the opportunity to get her insight on all things beauty, fashion trends, tattoos, and more. Just a heads up: she has pretty strong feelings about yoga pants outside the gym.
